Payment and Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy is more than generous and will be strictly enforced. Cancellations made more than 14 days in advance of the reservation date will receive a full refund less any payment processing fees. Cancellations made within 8 to 14 days of the reservation date will receive an 50% refund less any payment processing fees and a full refund for specially ordered meals and/or services. Cancellations made within 7 days of the reservation date will not receive any refund for lodging but will be refunded for specially ordered meals and/or services. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the reservation date will not receive any refund for lodging or specially ordered meals and/or services.
Heartland Country Resort accepts: VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.


Heartland Country Resort is a smoke free environment, so there is absolutely no smoking in the Lodge, Cabin Suites, or Barn. Smokers are welcome to lodge with us, as long as they are comfortable with our policy. Smoking is strictly limited to suite porches, outside areas away from non-smoking guests and dry leaves or grass, and your personal vehicle. Cigarette butts must be disposed of properly in ashtrays and trash receptacles. Violators will incur a $500 charge to the credit card used to make your reservation.


We are a pet friendly resort, and welcome your non-aggressive pet with some restrictions. Please remember that we are a working farm with many animals so pets should be kept safely on leash when outside. You are responsible for picking up your pet’s waste. All pets MUST BE CRATED if left alone in the cabin or lodge suite for ANY reason. There is a limit of two pets per suite. Our pet fee is $25 per night per pet and may be waived at the owner's discretion.  Any damage caused by your pet will be expected to be fully remedied and taken care of at your expense.
Heartland Country Resort Alcohol


No alcohol is served or permitted at Heartland Country Resort due to several past issues with the allowance of alcohol. If it is discovered that any guest is intoxicated or becomes intoxicated while on our property, you will be asked to leave without a refund and you will be charged for any damage to our property. 
Heartland Country Resort Policies

Courtesy to Other Guests and House Rules

The main floor of the Lodge is a common area available to all guests. Please be considerate of other guests lodging with us. We ask guests using the full kitchen in the Lodge to clean up after themselves by washing dishes, removing trash and leaving the kitchen how you found it. Similarly, please put away any indoor or outdoor games used and turn off the TV and lights.  Eating is allowed ONLY in the designated dining area or patio area.  There is to be NO eating or drinking on the couches, beds or other furnishings.  Any food or drink spills that cause damage to furniture or bedding or requires professional cleaning will be charged a minimum $125 cleaning fee and more if furniture replacement is necessary.  Please respect and care for our property as you would your own.  We have gone to great lengths to make it nice for you and future guests.  

Petting Zoo Rules

For the safety of our guests and farm animals, we ask that all Heartland guests adhere to the following rules:
  • Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Allow animals to smell you before petting.
  • Please do not feed your own food to the farm animals. Our staff will provide bread that you can feed to the chickens and goats.
  • Goats and chickens can and do nibble so avoid sticking your fingers where they might become a snack!
  • When petting horses, please stay completely away from their mouth area to avoid being bitten. Never stand behind a horse where you are more likely to be kicked or stepped on should the horse back up.
  • Please use caution around all animals, including the dogs and cats on the property.
